Parkway International Resort
"This place exceeded my expectations..."
"This is a beautiful resort in an excellent location ... [it] is an excellent place for a family with children."
"Wanted to add another positive review. Rented here because of the photos and TripAdvisor reviews and was not disappointed. Lovely spacious rooms, spotlessly clean. Staff went over and above to be helpful. The balcony was a great place for breakfast, especially coming from the cold northeast. Plenty of room to have the family stretch out; we never felt crowded."
"The kitchen was so well equipped, it was like a home away from home."
"We found Parkway to be an excellent value for the package price that we paid to stay for a week. This is our sixth trip to the Disney area and I found this resort to be the best value for the money that we have so far stayed."
Crescent Resort
"We loved the accommodations, nice and clean rooms. We'll come back
next year."
"[We received] exceptional service and friendly staff. On our last day we checked out early morning but since our flight was in the evening, we spent the day at the beach. The staff let us use an unoccupied room to have a shower before we left for the airport. Till this date, I have not stayed at a hotel that would go so out of their way to make your stay comfortable."
"Very impressed with room and amenities. Although very busy over the weekend..., we had a very pleasant stay assisted by very friendly staff. Highly recommended."
"Even though I went on a business trip, I had the best time. The whole staff was accommodating, from the housekeepers to the front desk manager. The beach is right in front of the resort and all the night clubs in walking distance. Great resort, wonderful staff equals repeat business......Can't wait to get away again!!!!"
Barefootn' Resort
"My daughter loved the cookies in the afternoon. We did not have to
pay for the internet since they have 2 computers in the lobby that
you are allowed to use for FREE. My daughter did her school report
on them. The staff there are super! They are more friendly than you
get at an expensive Disney resort ... and you see the same people
everyday. You get to know them. I would go back there in a heart
beat!"
"We loved it! [It] is clean, new and comfortable. The rooms are spacious. The staff is extremely kind. The hotel is a sunny yellow which makes you happy to be here. It was lovely!"
Orbit One
"This was so much better then staying in a cramped hotel. We could
cook a quick breakfast before going off to spend the day at the
parks. It was spacious, clean and comfy. We could come home to get
a good nights rest and do it all over again the next day. We had a
problem with the washer and the maintenance staff was there in five
minutes to fix. They were courteous and helpful. They even have
things to do each day, if you didn't want to do the parks. We are
going to try the water park associated with Orbit One the next
time. We would definitely stay here again and have already
recommended it to other family members."
"The staff was very friendly and unusually helpful. The pool and hot tub was the cleanest and nicest we have ever seen and the water temperature was perfect. After a grueling day at Disney we would come back and all four kids would swim for 2 hours. The waterslides kept them entertained. The location was ideal ...."
"We ... couldn't be more impressed. ... my boys made friends with about 6-7 other boys the same age and they played hoops and football every night. The property itself is actually very small by Disney townhouse/condo standards, which I loved! About 2 blocks around. It is gated and guarded for most of the time -- LOVE that. The room was fab -- big master suite with a jacuzzi tub big enough for 2+ (nice for a couple to have some romance during the trip -- make the time!) All the beds were pillow top and tons of drawer and closet space."
The Cove
"My wife and I stayed [here in] a one bedroom queen bed
condo in the North tower. We found the room to be extremely clean
and modern with a well functioning air conditioner. The rooms come
with a flat screen TV in the living room and a large portable TV in
the separate bedroom; this allowed me to watch The History Channel
or boxing matches while my wife watched 'Dancing With The Stars'.
We are both non-smokers and appreciated the hotel's "Non Smoking"
policy."
"We were in the North Tower which has been totally redone. They did an excellent job of everything. We had a two bedroom unit that each had their own bathroom. One of the bathrooms could also be accessed from the living room. The kitchen area was very nice and open concept to the living area. Big flat screen TV and DVD player in the living room as well. There were two balconies as well, one off the living room and one off one of the bedrooms. There was also a pullout couch as well if needed. The beds were excellent as well as the pillows and bedding. They really went to a lot of expense on the refurbishings."
"The beach is wonderful and that is where we spent our mornings. Both towers were kept extremely clean and the staff were always quite pleasant and helpful. The maintenance staff were always out and about and greeted you warmly every time. The activities director Vivian was excellent and had answers to all our questions."
"We had an excellent vacation there and would definitely stay there again."
"The one bedroom units are very nice and comfortable. Everything you need to make your holiday enjoyable. Nicely decorated, in cheerful colours and comfortable furniture and bed. These units have recently been refurbished/refurnished. Housekeeping checks to see if you want to replace your soiled towels or need more supplies for bathroom or kitchen. Remember these are run entirely different than hotels; you do not get maid service. If you do, you pay for it. The whole reason for renting a condo is to have your personal space and you can have all the comforts of home at your fingertips."
"The recreation staff are very good. They have a barbeque at the
pool most days ($2.00 for a hotdog or hamburg), wine tours, boat
cruises for the gamblers. A little something for everyone.
The pool has a large slide for the young at heart. Lots of tables,
chairs and loungers, strict "No Saving Chairs" rule. Another thing
we were very happy about is the no smoking rule. Even by the
pool."
Chenay Bay Beach Resort
"Burke, Patty & Big D made us feel more like family than guests
at this beautiful beachside resort. This was our first trip to St.
Croix and, based upon our experiences at Chenay Bay, we cannot wait
to return! This resort is the picture of a Caribbean vacation with
gorgeous cottage accommodations, delicious food (try the Mahi!),
excellent service and fantastic snorkeling and kayaking all with
the gorgeous white sand beach in the background. All in all,
staying at Chenay Bay made our vacation what is was. We could not
have picked a better place to stay for our first our first visit to
St. Croix. Should you have the opportunity to stay there, I highly
recommend it."
"In terms of dining, I would definitely recommend Chenay to start with. We had breakfast, lunch (mahi of course!) and dinner (huge yummy servings) and all were wonderfully prepared and served."
"We loved Chenay Bay. We had a garden view room but you could totally see the. From seeing the property I would think you would be able to see the ocean from most of the cottages. We were totally satisfied with our room. It was clean and comfortable. The staff was really nice. They have the cutest little cabanas and beds on the beach and the pool area is nice and just as you see in the pictures. You can also use their kayaks and snorkel stuff for free."
"This was the most relaxing vacation in an ideal location. There was always something going on socially, but I could choose my activities. I went swimming and snorkeling. There was a gorgeous swimming pool and the ocean water off the beach a few steps from my cabin. The restaurant was excellent. There was a casual atmosphere at the outdoor grill and bar. I met many interesting people. Wait staff and all employees were friendly. Management is professional and accommodating. I felt as part of a family at a home away from home. I will return to this wonderful spot."
"My 9th trip was just as spectacular as my 1st. I love Chenay
Bay and everything about it. My cottage is just beautiful and the
staff, well the staff is like family to me. I recommend this resort
for the following reasons.
1. The resort is immaculate
2. The staff is professional and extremely helpful.
3. The beach is absolutely stunning.
4. The view of the Renegade passing in front of Green Cay in route
to B.I.
5. The sand on the beach is softer than silk.
6. I can build the biggest sand castles and no one EVER wrecks
them.
7. Milda.....Head of housekeeping...and she runs a tight ship!!! So
sweet.
8. Sherman the receptionist. SO WONDERFUL!
9. The beautiful pool that has been renovated.
SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!!!!
10. The bar and restaurant are wonderful. And if Scotty is still
cooking your in for more of a treat!!!!
11. No mass crowds....in fact I usually see one if not zero people
on this mile stretch of incredible beach. It feels like your very
own!!!
12. All the cool folks I have met who are also there on
vacation....everyone is just so happy!! Smiles!!!
13. The turtles that I watched hatch with my very eyes just 100 or
so yards from the beach chairs.
14. I love the smell of the air at Chenay Bay.

2008 signature project places injured Army veteran a new home
Orlando, FL, December 1, 2008 - Island One Foundation recently participated in a dedication ceremony that culminated its 2008 signature project which provided a new home for an injured Iraqi war veteran and his family. The home was built through a West Orange Habitat for Humanity project called Home at Last.
Island One Foundation adopted this initiative as its signature project for 2008, and raised more than $350,000 through grants and cash replacement goods and services. The new home will house Army Sgt. Joshua Cope, his wife and their daughter.
During the special dedication ceremony where the Cope family received the keys to their completed house, Cary Erfurth, Chairman of the Island One Foundation Board spoke. "What we contributed was not only for Joshua Cope, but for the soldiers and families who sacrifice their lives each day," Erfurth said. "We have learned that nothing about our freedom is free. It exists because of heroes like Joshua, and the supporting families who are represented by Erica and Laney. Moment by moment we can make a difference in the lives of our family, our neighbors, our community, and with projects like this - our country."
Also attending the ceremony was Island One Resorts CEO Deborah Linden, Island One Foundation President Pamela Gould and Vice President of Construction Al Rider. Rider was the project co-chair and coordinated the contractors for Habitat. Island One Resorts Spokesperson Dan Haggerty was on hand, as well. Haggerty, who helped raise funds for the project earlier this year in the Foundation's charity event Cruisin' For A Cause, is well-known for his philanthropic endeavors.
"Island One Resorts' dedicated team members were instrumental in making this project a huge success," Gould said. "From donating their time and talents to gathering auction items, our team members' spirit of generosity exemplified the essence of the American spirit."
Home at Last was created by Habitat to provide a home for seriously wounded combat veterans. At present, this home is one of two being built through Habitat's Home at Last program. While on his second year-long deployment to Iraq, Cope was wounded in a roadside bomb which took both of his legs from the knee down and mangled his right hand.

The Foundation raised $355,000 to support charities in Central Florida
Orlando, FL, February 1, 2008 - Island One Foundation's first fundraiser, Cruisin' For A Cause, occurred on January 26, 2008 and was a resounding success. The road rally was a fun-filled motorcycle and car cruise from Orlando to Daytona Beach that was led by Robbie Knieval, who has followed in his father Evel Knievel's footsteps and Dan Haggerty, well known for playing the character of Grizzly Adams on television. The day began with a classic cycle and car show in Orlando and ended with the Black Vest Rendezvous Bash in the evening.
An estimated $355,000 in cash, materials and services was raised and will go toward helping several organizations including: Compassion Children's Free Medical Clinic, Coalition for the Homeless, Sunshine Foundation (the oldest wish granting organization in the country helping ill, terminal and abused children) and Cystic Fibrosis.
The Foundation's centerpiece project is a special Habitat for Humanity home, Project: "Home at Last." The project will build a home for army veteran Sergeant Joshua Cope, who recently returned from his second tour of duty in Iraq. Sergeant Cope came back a hero, saving several of his fellow soldiers before losing both his legs and severely injuring his right arm when his Humvee ran over an IED. Once he completes a series of surgeries and has re-learned to walk on his prosthetic legs in California, Sergeant Cope, his wife and two-year-old daughter need a home in Central Florida in order to be close to a supportive family.
